There are sooooo many beautiful hikes in Canada! The vast majority of my hiking was done on the door step of Vancouver and between Vancouver and Pemberton. I’ve also hiked in the Canadian Rockies which is a whole other level of beauty!
My main piece of advice for hiking in Canada is follow all the recommended precautions for hiking amongst bears and cougars. Attach bear bells to rucksacks (they might not be that noisy but they will do something) shout and clap every now and then after periods of silence and if you are camping don’t eat near your tent and store food in a cache away from your tent. I did actually come pretty close to a grizzly in the wild once but thankfully it didn’t see us. We were walking near a loud river and our shouts may have not been heard over it (or the bear just didn’t care). If you can, avoid walking next to loud rivers in areas with few people but if that’s not possible really amp up the volume of your shouting!
