Edinburgh is another beautiful city. The architecture is stuuuuning (even without the castle) and I can spend hours just walking around admiring it! What is also great about Edinburgh is that Arthur’s Seat (an extinct volcano) is situated right in the middle of it (pretty much) and a climb to the top offers both a good work out and great views of the city. And if you fancy going a little further and walking a little longer the Pentland hills are just outside Edinburgh.
In the city there are no shortage of awesome pubs with lots of choice for ales and whiskies and there are also a few micro-breweries kicking around. Also, vegan restaurants are popping up all the time and there is now a great selection of them.
In August the festivals are pretty awesome. It is super busy but the atmosphere is amazing and there are loads of free shows if you don’t feel like spending too much although beware, they are free, so that doesn’t mean they are good!:P There are also loads of pop-up bars where you can chill out and soak up the atmosphere.
