The small amount of hiking I have done in Norway so far was near Stavanger in the south west of the country. I went on two popular hikes, Preikestolen and Kjeragbolten. To get to Preikestolen I took the ferry from Stavanger and then a bus to to the start of the hike. It was a great hike but extremely busy. My advice, after getting to the Pulpit Rock and admiring it, keep going up the mountain. I got a summit all to myself!
To get to Kjeragbolten I hired a car. The drive there from Stavanger was beautiful and because I went in September, the bus to the start of the hike had finished running for the season so it was quite a bit quieter than Preikestolen!
Below are a few photos from those hikes.
