Vancouver is suuuuch a beautiful city. It has mountains, ski resorts, lakes, beaches and the sea right on its doorstep making it an outdoor enthusiasts paradise! Overall the weather is pretty good too. It gets a decent summer to make the most of the outdoors (mid-twenties and sunny for many days for about 3 months). The winters are quite wet but gets nowhere nearly as cold as most of the rest of Canada.
The city itself is great too with lot’s of good micro-breweries / tasting rooms etc where you can can try all sorts of weird and wonderful beers. It also has loads of vegan restaurants so you will never be stuck if you are that way inclined like myself.
And if you need to get out of Vancouver there are so many options all around like Whistler to the the north, Vancouver Island to the west and Seattle and Portland in the States to the south.
